Starting Five

Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

Starting Five is a game run by [your name or business name] (“we”, “us”). This page explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. You can reach us at [your contact email].

What we collect

You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for your real name, email address or location.

What stays on your device

The game saves a few things in your browser’s local storage: a random player ID, the display name you chose, your best scores, and your daily streak. This is not shared with anyone except as described here, and you can erase it at any time by clearing your site data.

Public information

Leaderboard names, team names and scores are public. Anyone who opens the game can see them. Please don’t use your real name or any personal information as your display name. We filter names for offensive language, but the filter isn’t perfect.

Who processes your data

We do not sell your personal information.

Ads

[Edit this section once you choose an ad network.] This site may show ads provided by [ad network name]. Ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your interests, according to their own privacy policies. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before ad cookies are used. You can also manage ad personalization through your browser or device settings.

How long we keep data

Leaderboard entries are kept until we remove them or you ask us to. Rate-limiting records are short-lived and are deleted automatically within minutes. Scouting requests are not stored by us after the result is returned.

Your choices and rights

You can clear the data on your device at any time. To have your leaderboard entry removed, email us at [your contact email] and include your display name and team name. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to certain uses. Email us and we’ll help.

Children

Starting Five is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
